This is a "Special Edition" (SE) release of Mediainlinux, a Linux live CD designed for multimedia production: "Christmas gift from the Mediainlinux Team: download our Mediainlinux 3 Special Edition! 2004-07-30 Development Release: Mediainlinux 2 Beta Edition
Mediainlinux (formerly known as medialinux) is a complete Linux distribution targeted at multimedia production, which consist in a live cd (knoppix derived) containing more than 200 graphical applications and thousands of command line tools in the Audio, 2D/3D graphics and Video domain. Mediainlinux 2 is now OpenMosix enabled. Most of the work has been derived from Cluster Knoppix, and all packages are up to date. According to the release news on its new web site, a special version of Mediainlinux 2 is even to be demonstrated and distributed at the upcoming ACM SIGGRAPH 2004 in Los Angeles. Medialinux is a live CD based on Knoppix, with hundreds of multimedia applications taken from the Debian GNU/Linux distribution. It is developed by Opensourcelab, the Open Source Laboratory of Virtual Reality and Multi Media Park in Turin, Italy. Medialinux is designed to be a comprehensive tool for creating graphics, video and audio content without having to install the distribution on hard disk. Medialinux 2 beta has been released and is available for download: medialinux2.iso (702MB).
