2004-11-02 Development Release: Aurox Linux 10.1 Beta
It hasn’t been long since the release of Aurox Linux 10.0, but the development of a next release is already underway. New in version 10.1: Linux kernel 2.6.9, X.Org 6.8.1, GNOME 2.8, KDE 3.3.1. This release still has several known issues, including messy menus, low-quality translations and possible problems with an upgrade not satisfying the dependencies. The old SCSI disk install problem has been fixed. Users are encouraged to test this release and file all bugs against the unstable project in the Aurox Linux Bug Tracker. Aurox Linux 10.0 has been released: "Since today, Aurox 10.0, code name "Amber", is available for download. New and exciting features are: kernel 2.6.7, SWSUSP 2.0.0.90 (it allows you to suspend your system to swap partition), udev-030 (dynamically creates /dev entries), ipw2100 (device driver for Intel Pro wireless card), ndiswrapper (tool that allows you to install WinXP drivers for wireless network cards), Synaptic touchpad drivers (you can now use all the features of this device: tapping, scrolling, etc). Many other packages have been updated, the most important are: OpenOffice.org 1.1.2, KDE 3.2.3, Xine, MPlayer." This is the full announcement. 2004-08-11 Development Release: Aurox Linux 10.0 Beta 1
The next release of Aurox Linux is in the works: "Since today on our mirrors you will find Beta1 release of upcoming Aurox 10.0. ISO images of 4 CDs are in /backup directory. There are several bugs in this version we have to fix; but probably there are also many unrecognized; please report them; that’s the reason of releasing Beta. Aurox Linux 9.4.2 has been released: "On our mirrors you can find Aurox 9.4.2 - Aurox with reduced number of packages. The whole distribution is placed on one CD. Two versions are available: German and Polish. However, it’s still possible to install and use this version also in English. Aurox 9.4.2 contains KDE 3.2.2 (no GNOME), multimedia, office and most popular applications. You can also download other Aurox 9.4 packages using apt-get or yum after the installation.
