2007-03-03 Development Release: ClarkConnect Gateway/Server 4.1 Beta 1
The first beta of ClarkConnect Gateway and Server 4.1 has been released for testing: " The Community 4.1 beta 1 is available. The 4.1 release is an important step in implementing our 4.x roadmap. We expect 2007 to be the best year yet for ClarkConnect! Along with the features listed in the above table, two other packages are also available for beta testing: DansGuardian 2.9.x (the latest version of the DansGuardian content filter is still in beta, but it includes two very important features: deep URL analysis and anti-virus scanning) and OpenVPN 2.1 (the managed VPN solution in ClarkConnect goes a long way in simplifying LAN-to-LAN VPNs)." 2007-02-24 Development Release: ClarkConnect Gateway/Server 4.1 Alpha
The first development build of ClarkConnect Gateway/Server 4.1 is now available for download and testing: "We are very excited about some of the features that will soon be available. Under the hood, the ClarkConnect 4.1 release includes the necessary changes to roll out the following features in the first half of 2007: group and antivirus support for the web proxy / content filter; web access to calendars, contacts, task list and notes; Asterisk PBX and VoIP modules. This release is alpha quality. There are still a few missing features and only preliminary testing has been completed. Please do not install this version in a production or live environment!" 2006-09-19 Distribution Release: ClarkConnect Server/Gateway 4.0
A major new version of ClarkConnect Server and Gateway has been released: "ClarkConnect 4.0 represents Point Clark Networks’ most significant platform release. Thousand hours of research, software development, integration and testing have been invested in the 4.0 feature set." The new version includes a large number of new features including LDAP user management, group management; calendaring and collaboration with Outlook Connector; Horde webmail, Flexshare, Cyrus POP3/IMAP, DSPAM protection (in addition to SpamAssassin), ClamAV antivirus for mail protection (in addition to optional Sophos), SSL certificate manager, 1:1 NAT and MultiWAN, fault tolerance option in MultiWAN, AdZapper, Graphical Console and many other additions and software updates. The first beta release of ClarkConnect Gateway/Server 4.0 is out: "With this release, the software is certainly stable enough to use - we have been running it on most of our in-house systems for a few weeks. There are still many places that require extra polish (missing locale, user interface improvements, etc).. However, the underlying software modules (antivirus, LDAP, etc.) work just fine." The recently released ClarkConnect Gateway/Server 3.2 has received its first bug-fix revision: "From time to time, we release ISO downloads with all the latest updates and bug fixes. Revision Notes: intrusion detection report generation; system watch connection issues with some ISPs; PPTP VPN blocked access to local server; PPPoE configuration issue on a new network interface; Webmail configuration error on a new installation; cosmetic issue with the rpm command." ClarkConnect Gateway/Server 3.2 has been released. What’s new? "The full list of changes is available in the developer change log -- highlights include: Multi-WAN; user login access for changing passwords; sub-administrator login access; network diagnostic tools. Version 3.x supports upgrades from ClarkConnect 1.1 and later. When you run the ClarkConnect installer, make sure you select the upgrade option (see adjacent screenshot). As with any upgrade, please backup any critical data. Some software required conversion utilities and name changes. You should double check the following after your upgrade...."
