2005-09-08 Development Release: GNOPPIX Linux 2.12 Beta
The GNOPPIX project has released an Ubuntu-based live CD with a preview release of Gnome 2.12: "The GNOPPIX project proudly presents the first beta release of version 2.12 of the GNOPPIX Linux live CD. This version comes with Gnome 2.12, updates and lot of improvements. Gnoppix 2.12 beta1 is available in four languages: German, English, French and Hindi." You can find the full release announcement on the project’s home page. Please note that the CD does not contain the final version of GNOME 2.12, but rather an earlier beta preview. Download: gnome-livecd-2.12-i386-en-5.iso (630MB, MD5). The French, German and Hindi ISO images can be found in this directory, while BitTorrent trackers are available here.
2005-06-16 Distribution Release: Gnoppix 1.0
The developers of the Ubuntu-based Gnoppix project have released the first stable version of their live CD: "The Gnoppix project presents version 1.0 of the Gnoppix Linux live CD. Gnoppix 1.0 can be downloaded for the Intel i386 platform here. PowerPC and AMD64 platforms will be ready soon. Gnoppix 1.0 comes with GNOME 2.10." The release announcement can be read on the distribution’s home page. Download from one of the Gnoppix mirrors: gnoppix-1.0-i386.iso (649MB, MD5). Besides Gnoppix 1.0, a development build based on a snapshot of Ubuntu "Breezy Badger" and featuring a preview version of GNOME 2.11 has also been released.
2005-01-30 Development Release: Gnoppix Linux 0.9.90b1
Together with a redesigned Gnoppix web site, a new beta release of the Gnoppix Linux live CD is now available: "Developer version 0.9.90b1 Hoary is out. The Gnoppix project presents the first beta of version 0.9.90b1 of the Gnoppix Linux live CD. Developers can be download the PowerPC, AMD64 and Intel i386 platforms here. Gnoppix 0.9.90b1 comes with GNOME 2.9.90, new hardware detection features, bootable with external USB devices, CD writer features, and new architecture IA64 (= Itanium Processor Family)." A new development release of the Gnoppix live CD has been uploaded to mirrors: "Gnoppix Developer version 0.9.3b1 ’Hoary’ is out. The Gnoppix project proudly presents the first beta of version 0.9.3 of the Gnoppix Linux live CD. 0.9.3 comes for PowerPC, AMD64 and Intel i386 Platforms. This is a new beta release of the Gnoppix live CD, a distribution that will form a basis for the upcoming Ubuntu Linux 5.04 ("Hoary") live CD. From the release announcement: "Gnoppix Developer version 0.9.2b5 Hoary is out. The Gnoppix project proudly presents the first beta of version 0.9.2 of the Gnoppix Linux Live CD. 0.9.2 comes for PowerPC, AMD64 and Intel i386 platforms. The version comes with the lastest GNOME software - GNOME 2.9.2 and X.Org." 2004-10-15 Development Release: Gnoppix 0.8.1 Beta 9
Another beta release of the Gnoppix 0.8.1 live CD is now available for download and testing: "The Gnoppix project proudly presents the ninth beta release of version 0.8.1 of the Gnoppix Linux live CD.
