2006-11-03 Distribution Release: GoboLinux 013
André Detsch has announced the release of GoboLinux 013, a distribution with a radically revamped file system hierarchy: "We are pleased to introduce GoboLinux 013, the new major release of GoboLinux, the alternative Linux distribution. This release is the result of over an year of work on the build infrastructure used by the distribution. The new live CD build environment is highly customizable and package building was overhauled by using a dynamically-generated sandboxed environment which insulates the source code and its dependencies during compilation. These under-the-hood improvements resulted in cleaner builds when bringing the package set up-to-date: major upgrades include X.Org 7.1, KDE 3.5.3, glibc 2.4 and GCC 4.1.1." 2006-10-16 Development Release: GoboLinux 013 RC1
André Detsch has announced the availability of the first release candidate of GoboLinux 013: "GoboLinux 013rc1 is out! The first release candidate for GoboLinux 013 is available for download. Help testing it, and report bugs at the GoboLinux bug tracker. The final version, or next release candidate, is going to be released in about one week." Here is the short release announcement. GoboLinux is an independently developed distribution whose main feature is an alternative (and, arguably, more logical) file system layout than the standard UNIX file system hierarchy. GoboLinux 012 has been released: "We are pleased to introduce GoboLinux 012, the new major release of GoboLinux, the alternative Linux distribution.This release features the usual series of application upgrades, and marks the transition from devfs and Kudzu to udev and Hotplug, which should bring hardware detection up-to-date. 2005-05-29 Development Release: GoboLinux 012 RC2
A new release candidate of the upcoming GoboLinux 012 has been released for last minute testing: "Containing small enhancements and some bug fixes, GoboLinux 012rc2 is available for download. This version is planned to be tagged 012 final on May 30. Main changes since 012rc1: auto-detection of xorg.conf is fixed; Firefox (1.0.4) and Thunderbird (1.0.2) updates; addition of .chroot script; De_de translations updates; versions of BootScripts, Manager and ConfigTools were renamed to ’stable numbers’." 2005-05-21 Development Release: GoboLinux 012 RC1
The first release candidate of GoboLinux 012 is now available for download and testing: "And finally.... 012rc1. After considerable improvements regarding device management (new version of udev and hotplug), GoboLinux 012rc1 is available for download. Hardware-related configuration scripts were also reorganized, and are now concentrated in a ’ConfigTools’ package. Many tests and stability enhancements were performed last two weeks, giving this ISO a release candidate status. 012 final is planned to no latter that 30/05 (hard deadline). 2005-02-18 Development Release: GoboLinux 012 Beta 1
The first beta of GoboLinux 012 has been released for download and testing: "After general enhancements and overall fixes based on reported problems, this release will be the last before a release candidate (to be prepared in the next week).
