2007-01-10 BSD Release: PC-BSD 1.3.01
The PC-BSD project has announced the availability of a bug-fix release of PC-BSD, version 1.3.01: "Version 1.3.01 of PC-BSD has now been made available on the download page. This update addresses several recent issues with partitioning, as well as fixes issues with certain hardware and HAL support. Users already running version 1.3 may download an update to 1.3.01 via the ’Online Update’ utility." New in this release: "Updated HAL to latest version in Ports; updated PCInstall code with fixes for extended partitions; updated enable.sh script for HAL in Services tool; added Arabic language to installer; fixed issue with changing the video card on install CD to ’vesa’; fixed issue running PBIs directly from CD...." 2006-12-31 BSD Release: PC-BSD 1.3
PC-BSD 1.3 has been released: "Just in time to ring in the New Year, the PC-BSD team is pleased to announce the immediate availability of PC-BSD version 1.3 for public download. The first release candidate of PC-BSD 1.3 is ready for testing: "Version 1.3RC1 of PC-BSD has been uploaded to the mirrors, and is now available on our Beta download page. Many bugs have been squashed for this release in preparation for 1.3 final." What’s new? "Fixed icon size issues in KMenu; installer now does not display extended partitions; installer now can use empty primary partition space to install; fixed issue with BSDStats not properly reporting usage; fixed problem with ’Start’ icon text not being translated properly; fixed issues when using installer to upgrade system from 1.2 to 1.3; closed numerous other issues from BETA2." 2006-11-27 Development Release: PC-BSD 1.3 Beta 2
The second beta release of PC-BSD 1.3 is ready for testing: "After much hard work, the PC-BSD team is pleased to announce that version 1.3 BETA2 is now available for download. This version adds support for installing in languages other than English, and addresses numerous bugs found in BETA1." Other changes in the latest release include switching to the "Crystal Clear" icon set for default install and a number of package updates, notably Freetype 2.2.1, GTK+ 2.10.6 GStreamer 0.10.10 and libgnome 2.16.0. PC-BSD 1.2 has been released: "PC-BSD software is pleased to announce the immediate availability of PC-BSD 1.2 for x86 based processors. PC-BSD 1.2 now utilizes the FreeBSD advanced ULE scheduler and is compiled with optimizations for 686 processors (all support for 386, 486 and 586 microcode is disabled in kernel).
