2006-12-07 Distribution Release: T2 SDE 6.0.2

Rene Rebe has announced the release of T2 6.0.2, a Linux distribution build kit originally forked from ROCK Linux: "We are pleased to announce the maintenance release T2 6.0.2 named ’Continuity’. It also comes with some updated packages, but mostly security updates, bug fixes and some improvements. The release primarily focuses on ironing out all known SPARC64 issues for smooth support on Sun T1 Niagara CPU systems such as the T1000 and T2000 - but also includes non-SPARC security fixes, updates and improvements along the lines." 2006-10-30 Distribution Release: T2 SDE 6.0.1

René Rebe has announced an updated release of T2 SDE, a source-based distribution build kit originally forked from ROCK Linux: "We are pleased to announce the maintenance release T2 6.0.1 named ’From Zero To One’. This release includes bug fixes, security fixes, updates and even some improvements to the System Development Environment (SDE). Most notable are: login warning about unsupported keyword in login.defs was fixed; a fix for the build environment where relative file names could potentially be resolved incorrectly; GRUB installation to non-primary hard disk computing a wrong BIOS device number; live CD creation scripts to involve fewer hard coded presets...." 2006-08-25 Distribution Release: T2 6.0.0

Aldas Nabazas has announced the release of T2 6.0.0, a system development environment for building a custom distribution directly from source code: "After a lot of testing, security updates and work on details, we are proud to announce the immediate availability of 6.0.0 final. The release features u/dev, early user-space, fully modular kernel, X11R7, C++ cross compilation, PowerPC64 and MIPS64 support, as well as a whole lot of updates and re-factoring under the hood. The x86 flavour already includes support for latest Apple Macintosh Intel hardware." Find more details in the release announcement. The source code for building T2 6.0.0 is available here, while pre-built ISO images targeted at desktops for PPC, PPC64, SPARC64, x86 and x86_64 architectures can be downloaded from this server.



2006-06-03 Development Release: T2 2.2.0 RC

René Rebe has announced the first development release of T2 2.2.0, a source-based distribution originally forked from ROCK Linux: "Finally, the release candidate of the 2.2.0 series ’Get the power back!’ is out. The series features udev, early user-space, fully modular kernel, X11R7, C++ cross compilation, PowerPC 64 and MIPS 64 support, as well as a whole lot of updates and re-factoring under the hood." As usual, the new version is available in the form of build scripts (2.4MB) for creating a complete distribution from source code, or as a set of pre-compiled CD images for several architectures. 2006-01-16 Distribution Release: T2 2.1.1

T2, a source-based distribution originally forked from ROCK Linux, has been updated to version 2.1.1: "The T2 development team is proud to present ’Lychee Punch’, the first maintenance release (2.1.1) for the stable 2.1 branch. This release includes bug fixes, security fixes, updates and even some improvement to the SDE. Most notable are: Kaffe 1.1.6, KDE 3.4.3, XFce 4.2.3.2, WINE 0.9.1, Mono 1.1.10, Eclipse 3.1.1, Xpdf 3.01pl1, KOffice 1.4.2, Samba 3.0.21a, OpenOffice.org 2.0.0.1, MPlayer 1.0pre7try2...." 2005-11-26 Development Release: T2 Live 2.2.0 Delta

The T2 project, a distribution build kit originally forked from ROCK Linux, has announced the release of a new version of T2 Live: "We are proud to announce the next revision of the ’state of the art’ live CD implementation based upon T2: 2.2.0-delta ’take the power back’. Since the last release, fixes are: hundreds of updates based upon T2 trunk:HEAD; modular X11R7; GCC 4.0, glibc 2.4cvs, Linux 2.6.14; NPTL instead of Linux Threads. A lot more hardware configurations got added to the ’officially supported / tested’ list on the home page and there are now companies using T2 Live as a base for their commercial products."
